RPGX Toolbelt FULL UPDATE!!!

🔥 THE BIGGEST DROP IN RPGX HISTORY IS HERE 🔥

Proton 3.0.0 | AI Assistant 4.0.0 | Quest Log 2.0.0 | Loot Crate 1.1.0 Early Access

Two weeks. That's how long it took to completely transform the RPGX Toolbelt into something I am genuinely proud to put in front of every one of you. This isn't a patch. This isn't a minor update. This is a full overhaul of nearly every system across the entire suite, and it is dropping TODAY.

Buckle up, because there is a lot to cover.

🧠 RPGX PROTON 3.0.0 : THE BRAIN GETS A FULL TRANSPLANT

Proton is the engine that powers everything, and 3.0.0 is the biggest leap it has ever taken.

Rich Text Journals : Your World Lives in Proton Now

Proton now has a full, multi-page journal system. Not flat text files, not ugly raw HTML dumps: actual structured journals with named pages, real formatting, and a clean sidebar that lets you navigate your world like a proper wiki. Every journal is collapsible in the tree view. Push-to-Foundry buttons are always visible. Trash buttons tuck away on hover so they stay out of your way. This is the kind of clean, functional UI that Game Masters actually deserve.

Legacy HTML journals from older versions? Proton migrates them automatically. You won't lose a word.

Bidirectional Foundry Journal Sync : The Bridge Is Real

This one took serious engineering. Foundry removed its REST API a while back, which is what most tools relied on for external communication. We went around it. Proton now syncs journals bidirectionally with your Foundry world through the AI Assistant module using a queue-based relay system. That means changes you make in Proton push to Foundry, and journal pages created inside Foundry show up in Proton after a sync. Per-page granularity, per-page timestamps, and smart change detection so nothing syncs unless it actually changed. Whether your Foundry is running locally on your game table, on a dedicated home server, or hosted remotely through Forge, this works.

Full OCR PDF Conversion : Bring Your Books Into the AI

This is massive for anyone running published adventures or homebrew PDFs. Proton now converts PDFs using full Tesseract OCR, turning scanned or image-based documents into clean, ingestible text that goes straight into your RAG knowledge base. Proton detects your Tesseract installation automatically, including user-local installs from winget. Drop in a PDF, hit convert, and your AI Assistant can start pulling context from it during your sessions. No manual copy-paste. No reformatting. Just knowledge.

The Ethics Card : Why We Switched to Phi4

Speaking of AI, let's talk about something important.

Proton 3.0.0 ships with Phi4 as the default model, and I want to be very clear about why.

Yes, Phi4 is a genuinely impressive model. It punches well above its weight class for local inference, handles creative and contextual reasoning exceptionally well, and fits the kind of hardware our users actually own. It is a better tool for what we are building.

But there is a second reason, and it matters more to me personally.

The previous default model stack leaned on technology from Alibaba. I spent time researching Alibaba's real-world conduct, specifically their involvement in developing and deploying facial recognition technology used in the mass surveillance and persecution of Uyghur Muslims in China. These are not allegations. They are documented. They are serious human rights violations, and I am not willing to quietly route your gaming sessions through tools built by a company with that track record.

RPGX Studios does not endorse, support, or profit from companies whose technology is weaponized against human civil liberties. Full stop. If that costs us users, that is a price I am willing to pay.

Phi4 is built by Microsoft Research. It is fast, capable, local, and private. It is the right call on every level.

You will find a formal Ethics Card in the About section of Proton 3.0.0 covering our commitments to environmental responsibility, creator rights, and human rights. This is not performative. This is how we operate.

⚙️ RPGX AI ASSISTANT 4.0.0 : THE CORE MODULE LEVELS UP

The AI Assistant is the glue that connects Proton to your Foundry world, and 4.0.0 gives it a serious upgrade.

System and Genre : Context That Actually Matters

This is something the community has needed for a long time. The AI Assistant now lets you define both your game system and your world's genre as separate fields, and that distinction is intentional.

Your game system governs the mechanical context: class names, ability scores, action economy, rule language. Your genre governs the narrative and aesthetic context: grimdark fantasy, space opera, sword and sorcery, cosmic horror. The AI uses both, independently, to shape every response it gives you. Asking about a trap in a D&D dungeon feels different from asking about one in a Pathfinder dungeon, and asking about either one in a gothic horror setting should feel different from asking about one in a high fantasy setting. Now it does.

Smarter Token Sharing Across the Toolbelt

If you run multiple RPGX modules (and after today, you just might), you no longer have to configure your Proton RAG Auth Token in every single one of them. Set it once in the AI Assistant, and Quest Log, Loot Crate, and any future module will automatically read it from there. One token, one setup, done.

📜 RPGX QUEST LOG 2.0.0 : YOUR QUEST TRACKER KNOWS THE WORLD NOW

Quest Log has been a fan favorite since day one, and 2.0.0 brings it fully in line with the new intelligence layer across the Toolbelt.

System and Genre Context in Every Quest

Quest Log now reads your game system and genre settings and passes them directly into the AI quest generation pipeline. That means generated quest hooks, objectives, and rewards are shaped by the tone and mechanics of your actual game. A quest generated for Savage Worlds in a post-apocalyptic setting should not look or sound like one generated for 5e in a heroic fantasy world. Now it won't.

Shared Token Support

Same as the AI Assistant, Quest Log will now pull your Proton token from the AI Assistant module if it finds one. No double configuration, no confusion.

đź’° RPGX LOOT CRATE 1.1.0 : EARLY ACCESS IS OPEN, SILVER TIER AND UP

And then there is this.

Loot Crate started as a "someday" idea and became one of the most requested features from the community: an AI-powered party loot manager built directly into Foundry. Drag items in, let the AI generate contextually appropriate rewards based on your game system and genre, and manage your party's haul without ever leaving your session.

1.1.0 is launching today in Early Access, exclusively for Silver Tier patrons and above, weeks before it hits the official Foundry package registry.

You helped build this. Every subscription, every piece of feedback, every moment of patience while I pushed through late nights on this codebase: this is where it lands. You get it first. That's the deal.

The full public release is coming, but you're playing with it now.

🛠️ HOW TO GET THE UPDATE

Proton 3.0.0 is available now throught he updater or, products page, or our Patreon. Download the installer, run it, and let it handle the rest. If you have an existing Proton install, the migration happens automatically on first launch.

AI Assistant 4.0.0 and Quest Log 2.0.0 availible through our pages or directly in the Foundry Modules manager.

Loot Crate 1.1.0 is available to Silver Tier and above starting today via our Patreon page. Install it like any manual Foundry module and get familiar with it before everyone else does.

THANK YOU

Genuinely, from the bottom of my game-master-obsessed heart: thank you. This project exists because of this community. The RPGX Toolbelt is not just software, it is a philosophy about what AI assistance should look like: private, local, ethical, and built to empower the people sitting around the table, not replace them.

We are just getting started.
